Whereas the Honourable K. Peter Richard, a Judge of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, will attain the age of seventy‑five years on January 31, 2007, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

 

And whereas the Honourable K. Peter Richard has held judicial office for at least ten years;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $154,066.66 to the Honourable K. Peter Richard, commencing on January 31, 2007, and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable K. Peter Richard, juge de la Cour suprême de la Nouvelle-Écosse, atteindra l’âge de soixante‑quinze ans le 31 janvier 2007 et, en conséquence, cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

 

Attendu que l’honorable K. Peter Richard a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable K. Peter Richard, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 154 066,66 $, payable à compter du 31 janvier 2007.
