Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, hereby authorizes

 

(a) firstly,

 

(i) the Prime Minister or the Minister of Foreign Affairs to sign, on behalf of the Government of Canada, an Agreement between Canada and the Republic of Peru for the Promotion and Protection of Investments, or

 

(ii) the Minister of Foreign Affairs to execute and issue an Instrument of Full Powers authorizing the Honourable David Emerson, Minister for International Trade, or Marie‑Lucie Morin, Deputy Minister for International Trade, or Geneviève des Rivières, Ambassador of Canada to the Republic of Peru, or Gabriel Lessard, Ambassador of Canada to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, to sign, on behalf of the Government of Canada, an Agreement between Canada and the Republic of Peru for the Promotion and Protection of Investments; and

 

(b) secondly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs to take the action necessary to bring the Agreement into force for Canada.

Sur recommandation du ministre des Affaires étrangères, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil autorise :

 

a) d’une part,

 

(i) soit le premier ministre ou le ministre des Affaires étrangères à signer, au nom du gouvernement du Canada, l’Accord entre le Canada et la République du Pérou pour l’encouragement et la protection des investissements,

 

(ii) soit le ministre des Affaires étrangères à signer et à délivrer un instrument de pleins pouvoirs autorisant l’honorable David Emerson, ministre du Commerce international, Marie-Lucie Morin, sous-ministre du Commerce international, Geneviève des Rivières, ambassadeur du Canada auprès de la République du Pérou, ou Gabriel Lessard, ambassadeur du Canada auprès de la République socialiste du Vietnam, à signer, au nom du gouvernement du Canada, l’Accord entre le Canada et la République du Pérou pour l’encouragement et la protection des investissements;

 

b) d’autre part, le ministre des Affaires étrangères à prendre les mesures nécessaires à l’entrée en vigueur de l’Accord pour le Canada.
