Whereas subsection 8(3) of the Export Development Act specifies that no person so authorized has authority to act as President for a period exceeding sixty days without the approval of the Governor in Council;

And whereas the Board of Directors of Export Development Canada authorized Eric Siegel, an officer of the Corporation, to act as President as of October 10, 2006;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister for International Trade, pursuant to subsection 8(3) of the Export Development Act, hereby approves that Eric Siegel, an officer of the Corporation, act as President of Export Development Canada for a period exceeding sixty days, until such time as a President is appointed.

Attendu que le paragraphe 8(3) de la Loi sur le développement des exportations prévoit qu’en cas de vacance du poste de président d’Exportation et développement Canada, le conseil d’administration charge de l’intérim un administrateur ou un dirigeant de la Société;

Attendu que le paragraphe 8(3) de la Loi sur le développement des exportations spécifie que la durée de l’intérim est, sauf prorogation approuvée par le gouverneur en conseil, limitée à soixante jours;
