Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Industry, pursuant to sections 3, 5 and 7 of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Act, hereby appoints Chad Gaffield, of Ottawa, Ontario, to be President of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council to hold office during pleasure for a term of five years, and fixes his salary and other employment conditions as set out in the annexed schedule, which salary is within the range GC 9 ($199,600 ‑ $234,800), effective September 18, 2006.
