Attendu que l'honorable Gerald B. Freeman, juge de la Cour d’appel de la Nouvelle-Écosse, atteindra l'âge de soixante‑quinze ans le 29 juin 2006 et, en conséquence, cessera d'occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l'article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

 

Attendu que ledit juge Freeman a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l'alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l'honorable Gerald B. Freeman, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 154 066,66 $, payable à compter du 29 juin 2006, et qu'elle continue durant sa vie.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Whereas the Honourable Gerald B. Freeman, a Judge of the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, will attain the age of seventy‑five years on June 29, 2006, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

 

And whereas the said Mr. Justice Freeman has held judicial office for at least ten years;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $154,066.66 to the Honourable Gerald B. Freeman, commencing on June 29, 2006, and continuing thenceforth during his life.
