Attendu que l'honorable Edward D. Bayda, juge en chef de la Cour d’appel de la Saskatchewan, atteindra l'âge de soixante‑quinze ans le 9 septembre 2006 et, en conséquence, cessera d'occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l'article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

 

Attendu que ledit juge en chef Bayda a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l'alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l'honorable Edward D. Bayda, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 168 800,00 $, payable à compter du 9 septembre 2006, et qu'elle continue durant sa vie.

Whereas the Honourable Edward D. Bayda, Chief Justice of the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, will attain the age of seventy‑five years on September 9, 2006, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

 

And whereas the said Chief Justice Bayda has held judicial office for at least ten years;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $168,800.00 to the Honourable Edward D. Bayda, commencing on September 9, 2006, and continuing thenceforth during his life.
