Whereas the Honourable John G.J. O’Driscoll, a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice (Ontario), attained the age of seventy‑five years on March 3, 2006, and, therefore, ceased to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

 

And whereas Mr. Justice O’Driscoll had held judicial office for at least ten years;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $149,466.66 to the Honourable John G.J. O’Driscoll, commencing on March 3, 2006, and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable John G.J. O’Driscoll, juge de la Cour supérieure de justice (Ontario), a atteint l’âge de soixante‑quinze ans le 3 mars 2006 et, en conséquence, a cessé d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

 

Attendu que le juge O’Driscoll a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable John G.J. O’Driscoll, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 149 466,66 $, à compter du 3 mars 2006.
