Whereas the Honourable Edythe I. MacDonald, a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice (Ontario), attained the age of seventy‑five years on March 22, 2006, and, therefore, ceased to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

 

And whereas Madam Justice Edythe I. MacDonald had held judicial office for at least ten years;

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $149,466.66 to the Honourable Edythe I. MacDonald, commencing on March 22, 2006, and continuing during her life.

Attendu que l’honorable Edythe I. MacDonald, juge de la Cour supérieure de justice (Ontario), a atteint l’âge de soixante‑quinze ans le 22 mars 2006 et, en conséquence, a cessé d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

 

Attendu que la juge MacDonald a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

 

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable Edythe I. MacDonald, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 149 466,66 $, à compter du 22 mars 2006.
