Whereas, pursuant to subsection 20(3) of the Public Service Employment Act, the Public Service Commission has re-applied, subject to the approval of the Governor in Council, the provisions of that Act to the positions excluded under the Office of the Governor-General’s Secretary Exclusion Approval Order;

And whereas the Public Service Commission having decided that it is neither practicable nor in the best interests of the public service to apply certain provisions of the Public Service Employment Act to positions designated by the position numbers GGS-S-910 to 920 in the Office of the Governor General’s Secretary and the persons occupying those positions and has decided to exclude, having consulted with the employer in accordance with subsection 20(2) of that Act and subject to the approval of the Governor in Council, pursuant to subsection 20(1) of that Act, those positions and persons from the application of the Act, with the exception of sections 17, 18, 19, 54, 68, 69 and 111 to 122 of that Act;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, and pursuant to section 20 of the Public Service Employment Act, hereby approves

(a) the re-application of the provisions of the Public Service Employment Act, to the positions excluded under the Office of the Governor-General’s Secretary Exclusion Approval Order; and

Attendu que la Commission de la fonction publique a, en vertu du paragraphe 20(3) de la Loi sur l’emploi dans la fonction publique et sous réserve de l’agrément du gouverneur en conseil, annulé l’exemption approuvée par le Décret approuvant l’exclusion de certains postes du Secrétariat du gouverneur général;

a)  l’annulation de l’exemption approuvée par le Décret approuvant l’exclusion de certains postes du Secrétariat du gouverneur général;
