Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, hereby

 

(a) authorizes Canadians to accept and wear the Non‑Article 5 North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Medal for the NATO Training Mission in Iraq, with a “Non‑Article 5” bar, in recognition of honourable service in operations, commencing on or after August 18, 2004, other than those conducted according to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty; and

 

(b) directs that the Medal follow the Non‑Article 5 North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Medal for operations in the Balkans, in the order of precedence in the Canadian Honours System.

Sur recommandation du premier ministre, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

 

a) autorise l’acceptation et le port de la médaille Non Article 5 de l’Organisation du Traité de l’Atlantique Nord (OTAN) pour la mission de formation de l’OTAN en Irak, assortie d’une barrette « Non Article 5 », par les Canadiens et les Canadiennes ayant servi honorablement dans le cadre de cette mission, autrement que dans des opérations menées conformément à l’Article 5 du Traité de l’Atlantique Nord, la mission ayant commencé le 18 août 2004;

 

b) ordonne que cette médaille suive la médaille Non Article 5 de l’Organisation du Traité de l’Atlantique Nord (OTAN) pour des opérations dans les Balkans dans l’ordre de préséance du régime canadien des distinctions honorifiques.
