Whereas the governing body of each of the First Nations listed in the annexed schedule imposes a tax in accordance with the First Nations Goods and Services Tax Act;

 

Whereas the Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Government of Canada and with the approval of the Governor in Council, has entered into an administration agreement in respect of that tax with each of the First Nations, each of them acting through its authorized body within the meaning of that Act;

 

And whereas each administration agreement provides for an annual report, signed by the Auditor General, concerning the determination of amounts as provided in the administration agreement, to be provided to the First Nation; and

 

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 11 of the Auditor General Act, hereby requests that the Auditor General of Canada inquire into and report annually on the determination of amounts as provided in each of the administration agreements.

Attendu que le corps dirigeant de chacune des premières nations mentionnées dans l’annexe ci-jointe impose une taxe conformément à la Loi sur la taxe sur les produits et services des premières nations;

 

Attendu que le ministre des Finances, pour le compte du gouvernement du Canada et avec l’approbation de la gouverneure en conseil, a conclu un accord d’application relatif à cette taxe avec chacune de ces premières nations, chacune étant représentée par son organe autorisé au sens de cette loi;

 

Attendu que chacun de ces accords prévoit qu’un rapport annuel, signé par la vérificatrice générale, concernant le calcul de sommes selon l’accord doit être remis à la première nation,

 

À ces causes sur recommandation du ministre des Finances et en vertu de l’article 11 de la Loi sur le vérificateur général, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil demande que, tous les ans, la vérificatrice générale du Canada fasse une enquête et dresse un rapport relativement au calcul de sommes selon chacun des accords d’application.
