Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to section 3 of the Department of the Environment Act, hereby appoints

J. Michael Horgan of Ottawa, Ontario, to be Deputy Minister of the Environment, to hold office during pleasure, and fixes his salary at the rate set out in the schedule hereto, which salary is within the range ($213,500 - $251,200), effective May 23, 2006.
