Whereas the Honourable Gordon G. Easton, a Judge of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, Trial Division, will attain the age of seventy‑five years on November 19, 2005, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas the Honourable Gordon G. Easton has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $149,466.66 to the Honourable Gordon G. Easton, commencing on November 19, 2005 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Gordon G. Easton, juge de la Cour suprême de Terre-Neuve‑et-Labrador, Division de première instance, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 19 novembre 2005 et, en conséquence, cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que l’honorable Gordon G. Easton a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable Gordon G. Easton, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 149 466,66 $, à compter du 19 novembre 2005.
