Whereas the Honourable Thomas R. Braidwood, a Judge of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia, will attain the age of seventy-five years on December 29, 2005, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas the Honourable Thomas R. Braidwood has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $149,466.66 to the Honourable Thomas R. Braidwood, commencing on December 29, 2005 and continuing during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Thomas R. Braidwood, juge de la Cour d’appel de la Colombie-Britannique, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 29 décembre 2005 et, en conséquence, cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que l’honorable Thomas R. Braidwood a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable Thomas R. Braidwood, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 149 466,66 $, payable à compter du 29 décembre 2005.
