Whereas the Honourable Vital Cliche, a Puisne Judge of the Superior Court of Quebec, will attain the age of seventy-five years on March 6, 2003, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas Mr. Justice Cliche has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $140,133.33 to the Honourable Vital Cliche, commencing on March 6, 2003, and continuing thenceforth during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Vital Cliche, juge puîné de la Cour supérieure du Québec, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 6 mars 2003 et, en conséquence, cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que le juge Cliche a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable Vital Cliche, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 140 133,33 $, payable à compter du 6 mars 2003.
