Whereas the Honourable Gordon George Nicholls, a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice, will attain the age of seventy-five years on March 21, 2003, and, therefore, will cease to hold office on that date under the provisions of section 99 of the Constitution Act, 1867;

And whereas Mr. Justice Nicholls has held judicial office for at least ten years;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, pursuant to paragraph 42(1)(d) of the Judges Act, hereby grants an annuity of $140,133.33 to the Honourable Gordon George Nicholls, commencing on March 21, 2003, and continuing thenceforth during his life.

Attendu que l’honorable Gordon George Nicholls, juge de la Cour supérieure de justice, atteindra l’âge de soixante-quinze ans le 21 mars 2003 et, en conséquence, cessera d’occuper son poste à cette date en vertu de l’article 99 de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867;

Attendu que le juge Nicholls a exercé des fonctions judiciaires pendant au moins dix ans,

À ces causes, sur recommandation du ministre de la Justice et en vertu de l’alinéa 42(1)d) de la Loi sur les juges, Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil accorde à l’honorable Gordon George Nicholls, à titre viager, une pension annuelle de 140 133,33 $, payable à compter du 21 mars 2003.
