Whereas, the leader of every recognized party in the Senate has been consulted and the Senate has, by resolution dated December 13, 2017, approved the appointment of Pierre Legault as Senate Ethics Officer;

The Committee of the Privy Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to sections 20.1, 20.2 and 20.3 of the Parliament of Canada Act, advises that a commission under the Great Seal do issue appointing Pierre Legault of Ottawa, Ontario, to be Senate Ethics Officer, to hold office during good behaviour, on a part-time basis, for a term of seven years, and fixes his remuneration and certain conditions of employment as set out in the annexed schedule, which remuneration is comprised of a per diem within the range ($795 - $930), effective January 10, 2018.

Attendu que, après avoir consulté le chef de chacun des partis reconnus au Sénat, ce dernier a approuvé par résolution du 13 décembre 2017 la nomination de Pierre Legault, à titre de conseiller sénatorial en éthique,

Sur recommandation du premier ministre et en vertu des articles 20.1, 20.2 et 20.3 de la Loi sur le Parlement du Canada, le Comité du Conseil privé recommande de nommer par commission sous le grand sceau, Pierre Legault, d’Ottawa (Ontario), conseiller sénatorial en éthique, à titre inamovible pour un mandat de sept ans, à temps partiel, et fixe sa rémunération et certaines conditions d’emploi conformément à l’annexe ci-jointe, laquelle rémunération est composée d’un taux journalier dans l’échelle (795 $ – 930 $), à compter du 10 janvier 2018.
