Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, hereby

 

(a) establishes the Indian Residential Schools Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which is to consist of three Commissioners, including one Chairperson, to be appointed by the Governor in Council, to hold office during good behaviour for a term of five years, and

 

(b) specifies that the mandate of the Commissioners shall be the mandate set out in Schedule N to the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement, a copy of which Schedule is annexed to this Order,

 

effective June 1, 2008.

Sur recommandation du premier ministre,

Son Excellence la Gouverneure générale en conseil :

 

a) constitue la Commission de vérité et de réconciliation relative aux pensionnats indiens, formée de trois commissaires, dont un à titre de président, qui sont nommés par le gouverneur en conseil à titre inamovible pour un mandat de cinq ans;

 

b) confie aux commissaires le mandat qui figure à l’annexe N de la Convention de règlement relative aux pensionnats indiens, dont copie est jointe en annexe au présent décret.

 

Ces mesures prennent effet le 1^er juin 2008.
